Refund & Returns Policy

We hope you and your little ones love your book! But if something’s not quite right, here’s how we handle refunds and returns, in line with UK law.

Your Right to Cancel

If you purchased directly from us online, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it. This is your legal “cooling-off” period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

To receive a refund:

  • You must let us know within 14 days of delivery.

  • You then have 14 days to return the item to us.

  • The item must be in its original condition – unused and undamaged.

We cannot offer refunds for items that show signs of use, writing, tears, or other customer-caused damage.

Damaged in Transit

If your book arrives damaged, we’re very sorry! We’ll be happy to help – but we kindly ask that:

  • You email us within 48 hours of delivery.

  • You include clear photographs showing:

    • The damage to the item,

    • The packaging it arrived in,

    • The address label.

This helps us make a claim with the shipping provider. Without this evidence, we may be unable to offer a refund or replacement.

What We Can’t Refund

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds or replacements for:

  • Items damaged after delivery,

  • Items returned without prior notice,

  • Products returned in poor condition due to mishandling.

How to Request a Refund

To start a return, simply email us at inthesiding@gmail.com with your order number and reason for return. We’ll guide you through the next steps.

Refunds

If your return is approved:

  • We’ll refund you via your original payment method,

  • Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving the returned item,

  • Standard delivery costs will be refunded, but any upgraded shipping (e.g. express) will not.

Please note: Return postage is your responsibility unless the item is faulty or sent in error.
